Terry has considerable experience serving Nicollet County residents as a County Commissioner since 2019. Terry and Martha came to St. Peter in 1995 when Terry began teaching at Gustavus Adolphus College, where he served for 18 years.
Terry's public service began by volunteering on St. Peter city committees, where his work helped create St. Peter's downtown historic district.
Terry's experience as member and then chair of the St. Peter School Board and of the Minnesota Valley Education District highlighted his skills in education leadership and collaboration building.
Terry served several terms in the Minnesota House of Representatives, where he received positive recognition and numerous honors from farming organization, transportation advocates, and groups representing veterans, rural communities, health care and nursing homes, and many more.
